We drove all over town the other night looking for a cheap Christmas tree, but every place was wiped out! Then yesterday our amazing friends showed up at our door with a tree in tow! They are good people.

Year End Meme

1.What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before? Get married, kind of a bunch of stuff actually.

13. What song will always remind you of 2009?

I'm accompanying my family on their Christmas trip to Key West, Florida, a place I have never been to. This is a good thing because I am so high strung that my drawing is suffering.  I will take this time to ride a rental bicycle and get drunk and flirt harmlessly with creepy bohemian Key West gays and pay a visit to the home of one of my writing heroes and pay tribute to the descendants of his six-toed cat. When I return in the new year my blood will boil with new possibility.  A new job.  A new home with my friends. New stories to tell.

If you've ever wondered what American-style English sounds like to non-speakers - the actual sound and flow of it, without the content - this Italian "pop song" is probably as close as you're going to get without some sort of terrible brain trauma. Also, the song is pretty great, it wouldn't sound out of place on that "Nuggets" anthology.

Quiet times around here. Eleanor's working hard getting pieces together for a joint Giant Robot art show she's doing in January. I'm plugging away on Set to Sea. We've been drinking lots of hot toddys in these cold and rainy days.

Yeesh, Christmas is sneaking up on me fast. Time to declare war on this here Christmas.

Currently reading: To the Lighthouse (Virginia Woolf)
Currently listening: Fear and Whiskey (Mekons)/The Age of Faith (Will Durant audiobook)

Awhile back I was asked to participate in this comic project in England; so here's some background on it. I feel like out of all the heavy stories, mine might be the lightweight since it dealt with a local event from year ago, but it still kept with the theme. I'm kinda proud of the way the comic turned out.

A selection of the world’s most compelling graphic novelists and comic artists have collaborated with Ctrl.Alt.Shift, to create a limited edition comic book Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption which features original work from leading comic artists, satirists and creative figures from around the world including USA, South Africa, India, Sweden, Serbia and the UK. I think if I was going to be a dino I would want to be a stegosaurus. It's like they have a mohawk.

I finally saw Beautiful Losers, the movie companion to the book of the same name that I like a lot. I've been wanting to see it forever. Those guys view of art aligns (pretty much) with what mine has(is) become(ing). simplicity, play, make stuff make stuff don't care if its stupid.
it was an ok movie they didn't do much on the graffiti part at all but I guess theres other movies about that stuff

harmony korine is a weirdo I'd like to hang out with

I'm going to post up S2S three times a week for a while, since I've missed so many days recently.

The Secret Science Alliance and the Copycat Crook

Secret Science Alliance may be sold out on Amazon right now (they're bringing out a 2nd printing, but it probably wn't hit stores till January) but if you need it for Christmas and have a spare $161.84, this guy can hit you up on Ebay! And holy crap, someone on Amazon's trying to get $130.05 for a used copy! Who are these people?

Deathly Pale Ale

A little late, from this past Halloween. Before we went on our parade, we had some fun drawing labels for this pale ale I had just brewed. I wanted to document them before I scraped them off the bottles. Most of these were drawn by David Mack, Aaron Fu, or the lovely Eleanor Davis.

music in comics is a thing that is weird to do

I think to offset all these touchy-feeling projects I've got going, I'm gonna make a whole full-length comic of pure acid venom. explodey Mayhem blood n' guts n' curse words. it's about how this girl is pregnant and she beats people up and its gonna be called 'the freakout of 1993'.-

oh I have this twitter thing. I'm not sure why.

there was something I was gonna ask you guys but I didn't want to do an entry without pictures. And then I drew my pictures and forgot what I was gonna ask.
I think it was gonna be provocative..
